DESCRIPTION:PROCTOR (09-01-26) – On Patriots Day\, the 25th Anniversary of 9-11\, the Proctor Veterans of Foreign Wars\, is inviting veterans\, veteran’s families\, and the public to participate in honoring the innocent men and women who have sacrificed so much for our great nation.\n\nThe ceremony will be held on Friday\, September 11\, at 5 PM\; at the Proctor V.F.W.\, 501 3rd Avenue. V.F.W. Post 137 is one of the last area organizations to hold a 9-11 Remembrance event on Patriots Day and open to the public. Twenty-five years ago we all flew American Flags and vowed to never forget. The V.F.W. is staying true to its commitment to that deplorable day\; not just for the brave men and women in uniform that were sacrificed and those since\, but for the many souls who unknowingly would not go home that day.\n\nALL PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT WILL BENEFIT THE PROCTOR POLICE DEPARTMENT. DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED.\n\nMain Speaker will be V.F.W. Department of Minnesota Senior Vice-Commander Mary Thompson from the Timothy Robinson V.F.W. Post 8144 Hoyt Lakes\, Aviation Electrician in the United States Navy (1988 to 1996).\n\nPresiding Officer of the ceremony is Dwight Nelson (US Navy 1966-1970)\, Post Judge Advocate\, a Past Post Commander\, and designer of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the Lakewalk.\n\nPost 137 Commander Allen Young and 137 Auxilliary President Marilyn Nelson will welcome all\, and Post 137 Chaplain Bruce Johnson will give the blessings.
